Default o2 sensor bung location on headers...

My Edelbrock headers require that the o2 bung be welded to the header collector, Is there a commom spot where people are positioning the bung.
I'm guessing to the outside of the header straight out, not up or down.
I'm asking cause I'd rather not have to put my headers on then remove them just for finding the best location for the bung...Im also guessing that the bung should be in the collector area near the flange or can they be anywhere on any tube?
Thanks... M.

I general.. the O2 should be placed close to the engines exhaust port...

I put mine inboard facing at the 3 or 9 o'clock position. The collector is a good spot if possible..

What I did for my Edelbrock was put them just aft of the Ball/bell connector. In that small extention that came with the headers, don't forget to put the flange on 1st before welding on the Bung. That way I was able to mount everyting up.. put on the collector extention on and rotate them as needed. Then drove to the the muffler shop and had the pipe welded up.
