Shoenfeld headers on a 64 Nova with hidts front clip I have a 64 nova wagon with a standard heidts front end, ( not the super ride) an iron block 5.3 and a 4l60E, and bought the shoenfeld 186ls1-3 headers. I got the best deal through Jegs. I talked to Summit and Jegs and they said they sell nothing that fits check the forums. I saw Pimpdullas post and pictures and they looked,to fit perfect. The paint job sucked so I soda blasted them. When it came to installing them they did not fit so good. They hit the control arms on the left and right so I heated and bent them. I have adjustable motor mount plates and moved the engine back to where it is really close to the firewall and the left side hit the fire wall so I cut bend and welded it. I wish I would have found this thread befor I bought mine. So now i have 260.00 in the headers, need collector flanges for both sides, o2 bungs, collector gaskets, 2 cans if high temp paint, soda blasting , sanding, will need longer plug wires,and 5 hours dooing mods to the headers. I did a great job but wont know if they will fit for a fiew months. I have the car on a rotisserie. It sucks when you are trying to save money and it doesn't work out. I am dooing a budget build and stanelless headers were out of my reach. I would love it if CBR would have a cheaper steel option. Chuck is super nice with a great product. It was just out of my reach. I have some pictures of befor and the mods I did to the headers if anyone is interested Ps. I thought the stainless works/cbr headers were too high also but after looking at all the options I bought them.After looking at them and installing them I decided that this was one place where cheaper was not better.These are NICE.There is really nothing out there for a LS chevy II that compares to them,especially if you want stainless steel.Buy these once and be done,save some money somwhere else.Installation and fit could not be any better,drop them in with one hand and start the bolts with the other hand.
