coated headers Hello,
I have a 65 impala with an ls1 in it. Body still off the frame. I am trying to run the engine a while to see if I get any codes before fixing the code would be harder with the body on.
My ceramic headers from Street and Performance are smoking on one side. I am wondering if this is normal. The passenger side is smoking and not the drivers side. I cleaned them off of prints with a rag before starting the engine so I would not burn any fingerprints in them.
Is this normal to be smoking?

Scan it, and see if you have fuel issues on that bank.
Running it hot will fry the coating! Wiping w/ a rag does not get rid of oils.. Use of some alky will clean the coating, removing the dirt..
[We always have a large fan blowing on the engine, during initial start, to help w/such issues.]
Used engine, that's been sitting for a while? How about sticky injs?

Yes it is an old engine that has been sitting a while.
How would I solve a sticky injector problem? How would I test for this problem?
I have ordered a code scanner so when I get it I will look into the codes.
Acetone OK to clean the headers with?
