Default sbc to lsx motor mount adapter

I was wondering if anyone has a template made of one of the sbc to lsx mount swap plates. I tried searching the forum but nothing was coming up on it.

I know that they are not super expensive but if someone had a template I have some scrap metal and would be able to make some.

Thanks but was looking for something that had dimensions that I could use as template to build my own. I know if I had he engine I could get it direct off that but I haven't bought the engine, so just thought I would see if someone had all the dimensions so I could build my own adapter plate.

These were in the FQA/sticky at one time.

Standard plates:

for 1" set back, just move the Engine Mount (Not the block mounting) holes 1" froward and drill and tap.

Early BRP Plates:


1" setback plates.:

Is 1/4" steel the best I have seen some of aluminum and others thicker steel but seems like I read thicker ones were leading to other problems

I think I have seen where some people make those out of 3/8 in plate. Even ¼ in plate seems massively overkill and unnecessarily heavy to me. I used 3/16 plate on my mounts, but then again mine have some contour to them and aren’t completely flat.

I had a little contact with the front corner and the block. Nothing the bench grinder couldn't fix. I didn't even finish a while beer before it was clearanced. Easy fix.

As with each application. Some adjustments are needed. This is due to oil pan, Steering, Cross Member and Front Accessories clearance. By using thicker plates, it pushes the long mount bolt outwards as compared to thinner plates. This will cause alignement issue and many have complained about this. using Spacer, making the cross member hold oblong and other method have been used to align the bolt. Bottom line, you do what you have to do to make it work.

I had used 1/4" steel on my Chevelle and 1/2" Alumimum for my Nova.

For the template of the 1" setback that I posted. I also move the motor mount hole about 3/8" lower (well rasie the engine a bit) to help clearance the pan and also align the long bolts. Which is also like the Edelbrock plates anyway.
