modifying the core support on a 80 transam im wanting ti put the ls1 radiator and cooling fans in my 80 t/a any info or mod pics would work great

I am thinking of using this too. I would just try putting it in place. I believe there is some sort of protrusion on the bottom of the pass side based on Autozone pics. Maybe drill the core support for this. I would believe this protrusion is part of the side tank.

I have mounted two of these radiators in my buddies cars, '72 and '73 firebirds. i think the core support is the same or very similiar to the late second gen. on the first car we dropped the center of core support about an inch to make sure the overflow nipple did not hit the hood. the second car we left the lower support stock but the overflow nipple is very close to the hood(the cars have different hoods). the passenger side of the radiator uses a dowel to locate it in the factory core support. i centered the radiator, drilled a hole for the dowel and used a pcv valve grommet to mount between the core support and radiator. drivers side justed used the stock rubber mount. we used the fourth gen fans and had a piece of metal bent to secure the top of the radiator to the core support.
