Default Prime the engine somehow or just start it?

Hi All,

Swapped the pan on an LS2 that I am swapping into my Camaro - Can I fire it up directly after a few cranks with no fuel or do I need to follow a special procedure.

Thanks,
Chris

Cycle the key a few times to let pressure build up in the rail and you should be good to go.

there is a prime pulse when the key is turned to the ign on position, this prime pulse serves two purposes, one it builds fuels pressure in the rails, secondly it clears air from the rails by opening the injectors for a predetermined length of time. At least this is how I understand it.

Some people. Disconnect both banks of coil packs, and turn the motor over a few cranks and make sure you have good oil pressure. But im running a mechanical oil pressure gauge not an electronic one. Then when you turn it ver you can male sure you have oil pressure, fuel pressure, and by then i would go ahead and start her up.
