Default So i just got an LQ4 out of a 2000 2500hd

A local yard has a special on engines once a year and i snagged one for very cheap with a 1 year warranty on it. Ive heard of some issues with these having a longer crank shaft. I'm wanting to run my 700r4 behind this motor. What problems am i in for at this point?

This is going to go in a 72 cutlass supreme at some point in the near future. Still gathering cash for other swap parts but the engine deal was to good to pass on.

If it came with a l480 trans you dont need anything for the trans, and converter to fit. If it came with a 4L60 you will nedd a adapter for the converter to hook up.

99-00 they didnt come with a 4l60, the spacer is actually part of the crank these years, so nothing to buy, but this will become a problem if you ever would want to mount to a 4l60

It will be a direct swap for the 700r4 without changing anything

you may need to drill the flywheel for your tq converter patter but that is it\

The only downfall with the 99-00 is the iron heads compared to the aluminums

last year when I was getting my car running I threw on a set of 241s that I bought for cheap to up the compression.

700r4 is going to require a bracket for the TV cable (unless you put a tci full pressure valve kit in it).

Sound like everyone has got the tranny issue straightened out for you. I recommend checking out the A-body sticky. I will tell you a couple things based on my experience with my swap.

1. Don't waste your time or money on the muscle car swap pan either mod the truck pan or get the ctsv pan. Or the F-body if you have room.
2. If your patient you can get some good deals in the classifieds here.
3. Save money I modded a F-body engine harness, was time consuming but inexpensive.

Anything feel free to send me a pm.
