No power after swap
No power after swap 2002 5.3L, TKO600, LS1 cam and intake, open headers, no exhaust, o2s, or MAF.
Took the car around the block for the first time the other day and it had absolutely no guts (could barely chirp the tires or accelerate past 20). The engine fires right up and idles/sounds just fine. It revs freely in neutral. Throttle is opening all the way. Clutch is not slipping.
I did some light reading that suggested that either the missing o2s or knock sensors picking up vibrations from the open headers may be causing it. Can anyone confirm? I plan on getting the MAF and an exhaust this weekend, but I'd like to know if there's anything else to look for while I'm in there. The only codes it has are for the MAF and O2s, which I expect as they aren't currently installed. My scanner allows me to see basic data (MAP, MAF, O2S, VSS, TPS, RPM, etc) but no knock sensors. Any way to check them for excessive activity with a DVOM?

Without the MAF, the PCM will kick you into the Low Octane Spark Advance table which has significantly less timing...this will put the engine down on power. Get your sensors including the front O2s hooked up and re-test.
Agree with all of the above...if you don't have your sensors and specifically did not have your PCM tuned for SD tune, then I would almost bet money on the fact it is in Limp mode.

Power issue fixed. The scrap cloth I was using until I got an air filter doesn't flow much. My intake elbow was collapsing and choking the engine. Took it off and it lights up tires like a champ. The MAF is installed as well. I'm sure that didn't hurt.
