problem w/ BRP rack and pinion kit

Default problem w/ BRP rack and pinion kit

Iv got the BRP rack and pinion kit that i am installing. i was looking at the steering control arm (i think thats what it's called. the part that bolt to the back of the spindle) and it looks like it will not work w/ my drum brake backing plate. would it be safe to grind a portion of it off (they are pretty beefy parts) to clear the backing plate or do i need disc brakes?

Give a call to BRP before doing any grinding.

Yep, we had to grind the top corners down on mine for them to fit the spindles properly. You can see them ground at the top in this photo:

thanks for the pic. i know iv got to grind that down adn i also have to grind do close the where the rack adn pinion bolts up to the arm so that it can clear my drum break backing plate
