Default Drive by cable confusion.

I know this has been beaten but the more i read(hours and hours) the more i get confused. I have a '03 1500hd 6.0,80e 4x4 which recently got bigger ***** 408. I got used a profesional products ls2 intake and a fast92 tb. heres my question. I already picked up a peddal assembly from a 2002 silverado. Do i have to take the pcm from a 99-02 silverado? If a get one from a 6L savanah will i have issues with 4x4 since there not? And finally couldn't i just use mine?
by the way this site kicks a$$

Is this going to be dbc or dbw? If dbc then theres no need for the pedal assy. The pcm can be flashed with either the truck or van program.

Your computer is the last that GM made with the stepper motor for the IAC. You will need to pop the top off of the PCM and pyhsically look for the presence of this chipset. I have an 03 PCM and it did in fact have the proper chip. Mine is converted to DBC but I do not have the 4x4 to worry about. Can you not get a throttle body with the DBW that will fit the LS2 intake? Seems it would be a lot simpler. If you decide to go with DBC you will need someone to pin out the DBW, wire in the IAC and TPS, buy a TPS and a IAC, and have the computer flashed to operate the IAC and TPS properly. For the money you would spend on the conversion you could buy a nice DBW throttle body, just a thought. Do you have cruise control, something else to think about?
