Yeah, I ground about as much as I could right before I hit the bolt on the steering box. I'm gonna order up one of the relocation brackets and see how it goes.

I clearanced my box on my 64 swap. I have about 3/8" clearance with poly mounts. No contact yet

I am putting a LS-1 in 66 gto same problem looks like I am going to use a Denso 65 amp alternator might be a little small but it will fit and if I need to I can add another battery which I have moved to the trunk so I think it might work

gorr4, thanks for posting all those pics! I measured mine to be about 2 1/2 inches in diameter so it looks like I may be able to gain a half inch or so using one of the other pullys. The only issue then would be probably getting a little shorter belt.
