Default Just a thought, curious if it will work.

I'm getting ready to install a ls1 rack and pinion and steering link. Not sure if a need a cooler or not but, I've installed a trans cooler. The trans cooling side of the radiator is open. Has anybody ever used that side to cool the p/s fluid?

A cooler is not required but some do have them. The stock one is in the upper rad hose. The trans cooler will work.

On my Chevelle swap. I was having lockup, I put a cooler inline and the lockup when away.. There is a lot of heat being generated by having 1200+ lbs of pressure. i woul recommend one if you have the space for it.

Radiator one will work.. let us know how well it works out and if any problems.

Ok, will do. Is there an inlet and outlet on the rack or does it matter?

Just make sure you are using the low pressure (return) side of the power steering pump for your cooler. The low pressure side will be the side with the plain rubber hose over the nipple, not the screw-in threaded side.

Ok, is high pressure on top or bottom when rack is installed? It's been pulled since October, and I don't remember which is which. Hoses are removed from rack.

I can't remember, but the hoses will only fit one way. If memory serves me correctly, the hoses won't even thread into the incorrect ports - but I've had a bunch of stuff apart and back together since then.
