Need Help.. fbody shifter cable too short.. need alternative.

Need Help.. fbody shifter cable too short.. need alternative. It fit but the bend is too tight and the cable broke. given where the console needs to be (and thus the shifter) and where the trans is the stock fbody shifter cable is just too short to be reliable..
Personally I was amazed at how short the actual 4L60E fbody cable was..
I need one thats maybe 4+ inches longer.. anyone know an application that uses a floor shift and a longer cable?
We were thinking maybe from an S10 or even an earlier LT1 fbody..
Help.. this is about the last item to work out.. Oh and thanks my local tuner Mike Morgan of "e-tune" and John at Speartech we were able to successfully fire up the car yesterday.. it sounds wicked mean with open headers
