where to look up LS engine block and head numbers?
Here is the story , I am not looking for any super build right now just a super low budget ls engine in a c3 corvette (stop laughing) I bought a 1980 vet for $500 and traded aircraft parts for a LS engine that was on a airboat. I don't know if this was a "stock" ls motor or a "custom built" airboat motor by a reputable LS engine builder specializing in High low end torque ls motors for airboats I know there was history between the owner and builder just not sure how this motor plays into it.
I have looked online and searched here, I did find some posts but nothing with these numbers . It would be nice for future reference to know if there is a site or chart to search LS casting numbers and stamped numbers, but here are the numbers and locations for what I did found on my LS engine if you have a link to a reference chart or can ID any of these numbers please do.
*Block looking form pulleys back on the rear outside of block by where tranny bolts up I found this casting number "1W51140084"
*Right Head cast top corner "806"
*Right head stamped on the exhaust surface face under the 806 and above the sensor location was stamped "11/24/97"
*Right head center outside surface has a dotted stamped number of "1 08 1 05 32 K 22 7"
*Left Head cast top corner "806"
*Left head stamped on the exhaust surface face under the 806 and above the sensor location was stamped "11/24/97"
*Left head center outside surface has a dotted stamped number of "2 03 2 12 23 K 20 7"
Here's a couple pictures of my LS engine (hope the LS doesn't get to intimidated sitting next to a lighter 346cubic inch four cylinder)

"97-98 C5 corvette LS1" just that info will help a bunch when I am calling the junk yards looking for the ac compressor and alt bracket , apparently the local salvage yards can't look up any parts unless you tell them the year and car it came out of

The accessory brackets and hardware are not very expensive brand new. GM Performance also has a complete kit that is reasonably priced that includes all brackets, alternator, PS pump, AC, and all pulleys and hardware.
