Questions on engine swap I have been trolling the board sometime to gather some info. I have a 2003 1500 with a 5.3 that now has the castech cracked head syndrome. I have a friend that has a 3500 mile LY6 out of a 2009 with the VVT. He will change the cam out to get rid of the VVT and I know I can get the Lingerfelter box for the crank sensor. I have some other questions, such as will the LY6 intake work with my original 5.3 hookups? I think there may be an adapter acailable to bolt my electric throttle body to the Ly6 manifold and possible have to use my 5.3 injectors because of different wiring. Will it have to be retuned? Is this a simple do able swap or am I better to go a different route? I can get the LY6 for $2300 is this fair? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
