sup guys idk if this is the right area but here it goes..
so this weekend i picked up a 5.3 with all acessories from a friend for pretty damn cheap like 200 bucks cheap. it came out of an o6 something idk i think tahoe. but as far as the motor goes its really clean inside out like near new it has 706 heads
now after some research ive learned tht lq9 is better but ima work with wat i got being tht it was cheap *** hell . my goal is to hit at least 400 hp and this motor is not intended for drag racing or goin in a truck its goin in a bare *** 96 nissan 240sx with acage im using it for drifting thts it . so my ? is wht would it take to reach tht 400 hp (machining , porting heads, bigger injectors ,better intake, flat top pistons, cam, ect) .. any info will be appreciated im still doin more research on here .

the lm7/5.3l is actually a pretty good motor. I can't remember the magazine but they did a article on building hp in one. If you google "450 hp junkyard 5.3L" it should pull it up. Like 74novacustom said, you can get close to it with a good cam, and springs. good luck man.
