ECM inside or outside Looking for where most people put their ECM. I have a 65 impala that will be a summer car. probably do some long road trips, car is a ragtop so mostly in the sun.
Debating cutting the 2" hole in the firewall.

You can put it wherever you'd like. GM put them in a bunch of different places; under the hood is pretty common from the factory. I've even seen them in the airbox next to the air filter.
FWIW they look like they are fully sealed from the factory...we had a Monte Carlo that had been rolled, and it ran fine even though the ECM was sitting in a pool of oil.
