Starting my 5.3L Vortec conversion (need advice) I have a 66 Mustang coupe as a project, and had decided (almost as soon as i got it) that i wanted to do a conversion from the straight 6 thats in it, to a nice v8. The stang came with a 289 (shot) that the previous owner was working on putting in it.
I have now gotten my hands on a 99 5.3L vortec, and stock auto trans that was with it. I'm at the point where motor mounts and such would be useful. Through searching the interwebs, i have found a few mounting solutions for the motor and a couple for trans.
Anyone out there done this conversion before or something close? Any recommendations for mounting?
This is my first project car, and its like drinking from a fire hose. Any and all advise would be appreciated.
