Default Keep the DBW or convert to DBC?

I picked up a pretty complete 5.3 and am going to install it in my 70 camaro. I have been researching moding the stock harness and it seems most have a DBC throttle body. Mine is broken but is a DBW and I am not sure I should replace or convert to a DBC setup. I am missing the TAC and gas pedal so I would need to buy them to use the DBW setup. I know I will have to add some wires if I go to a DBC setup but it seems covered on this site. I am planning on getting an LS1 intake but not sure which so any input there would help. also what size TB should I get? I am going to turbo this so should I also upgrade the MAF? sorry for the amount of questions so heres a rundown.
1. keep the DBW or go DBC
2. what size TB
3. which intake
4. do i need to upgrade the maf

one advantage on the DBW is cruise control is a few wires to add..
and no tranny tv cable to deal with..

I am doing a 5.3 with a 700r4 behind it (cause I had it) and wish I had sold the 700 and got the 4l60e and use DBW.

I was going to do the car intake.. bought one, rails, injector.. mostly to be able to cover the top of the motor.. but have since found the escalade covers and they should be here this week.. My setup is truck, so the higher torque of the truck intake is what I want..

can't help on the maf/TB info for turbo.

While some people like DBW, most people tend to avoid it like the plague. Some claim that it's harder to tune, and some people just don't feel "comfortable" with an electronic throttle. You might consider posting this in the PCM Diagnostics and Tuning section....or check there for other threads that might give you a little better info.

Since it is a truck setup, it wouldnt be too difficult to acquire the TAC and Pedal (we have the set for $200). If it was a corvette and you didnt have these items, I would recommend going with the drive by cable as a replacement tac/pedal can get expensive. In your case it will be personal preference. We run a 68 C10 with a DBW 6.0 and it is very nice to drive and then we have an LS2 Nova with DBC, which is equally nice. Comes down to personal preference. Also, as stated above, if you want cruise control, it is very easy to do with the DBW.

For the intake, that is more of a 'does it fit' question. If you have the room and you dont mind the ugly intake, keep the truck. If you dont have the room go with the car. Again, cost for accessories can become a driving factor in this.

thanks for the info. I didnt know until I read a few more posts that if I switch intakes from the truck to a car that I will also need to change injectors? if I change them then I need to change plug ends so the cost to change may not be in the cards right now. Since I have no ECU i guess I can take either road when I get there.
