Need help deciding on mounts for LS1 into a-body I just wanted to get some advice for my particular situation. I have read many build threads to educate myself as much as possible, but I am still don't understand this issue as well as I would like.
My situation is this: I would like to put a LS1/4L60E combo from a 04 GTO into a 71 Lemans convertible. After doing extensive research, my current plan is as follows:
CSP2380 BOP Frame Mounts
Energy Suspension 3.1114 short and wide engine mounts
CSP2349 Adapter Plates
Holley 302-1 oil pan
I also hope to re-use the existing transmission crossmember.
I also wanted to know the pros and cons for the adapter plates - normal vs. 1" set back.
And what headers would work well for this?

I am only part of the way through my build, so I can not answer all of your questions.
As far as the "normal" vs "1 inch setback" mounts go, check my build thread for some dimensions of where they place the block. Hopefully that will help some.
