Default Use of expansion tank question

[IMG][/IMG]

I'm not sure there is a problem.

Trying out the diagram here in an effort to provide correct venting.

I found that the water flows slowly thru the steam tube before the thermostat opens, making the expansion tank warm before the top radiator hose. after the engine gets warm the expansion tank is pressurized so I haven't verified the steam vent water flow under those conditions, but everything seems to run fine. I have a temperature gauge in the rear passenger side cyl head and the engine warms and operates the same as before the installation of the expansion tank

Anyone using an expansion tank with the 5/8 heater hose capped?

Thanks for your help.

What are you asking?

Yes, the steam tube bypasses the thermostat.
