Default Motor mount issue

So I took a spare block to see where it would sit with my mounts...

I have the $30 3/8" eBay plates and standard 350 mounts.

Issue is that when I bolted passenger side in the other can't set into place. The bolt hole in motor mount is up and out like 3/4".

Sorry for the crappy paint pic...

Are you talking about the long bolt that goes between the mount stand ? if so.. this is common.. you will need to shim the frame stands or the engine mount as needed. Another solution is to to move the Frame Stands and/or shim up if needed.

I movef my Frame stands by redrilling the holes in the Crossmember, i made the holes oblong in shape upwards about 1/4" to 3/8", then bolted down the frame stand again.

Just figure which way you need to move them.

I'm thinking I will do same...just oblong the holes up for the frame stands. The mounts I have are the cheap Anchor brand and fit like crap. Had to grind a little, hammer, and force...

What mounts do you guys like? Energy Susp? Stock?

2 swaps, both needed 1/4" spacers to reach the mount hole. I made aluminum between the adapter plate and motor mount.

Gary did you have to move your frame stands any to get your motor to fit. Reason i ask is someone before me welded mine to the frame.

I am using Energysuspension.. oblong the hole for the frame stand on both side, that way the engine will not shift over and still be centered.

My 72 Olds had the chevelle frame mount holes drilled from the factory. I just bolted in the chevelle mounts.
