Default LSX notchback cost

Well I was going to do a LSX notch few months ago. but changed my mind and was going to just find a higher mile c5 and put my new cam only LS6 in it. But just got my house and it need little details, so im not going to be able to pick up a $10-13k vette at this point. So with that said I already have the AJE kmember with LS1 mount and arms, and rear upper and lowers. I already have a set of weld draglites. And can get a 8.8 cheap. I can get a nice coupe body for $500 buck, So im going to list whai I have priced up and u guys guide me in more stuff I may need or dont need

1- cowl hood $300
2- th350 manual valve body and good stall? $ 1200
3- ls swap headers used or someones abandon project $500??
4- carb and intake and MSD box $800??
5- fuel system sumped stock tank and pump reg $500
6- trans cross member new price?
7- gauges, florida cluster with oil pressure temp tach and shift light ???

Goal is a low 10 sec coupe but can be driven on street @ 55 mph for no more than 30 minutes but can be driven and strong track runner. Not going to be gutted like a tin can just lightened up.

I think I'll be around $4500 total in my whole build.

Car 300
Headers/flange $300
harness/pcm $150
Engine $300
Driveshaft $400
engine rebuild parts/machine work $500
cam kit $600
Electrical parts $100
Radiator/fans $100
Transmission $350
Stall $325
rear end $350
Fuel setup $250
K-member $400

so $4425 total in what I can remember. Most numbers are actually rounded higher on some things.

10k I sure hope not! Well if u add the engine I already have current suspension parts and what I'll need it could get up there. Hope to build on a budget!

checkout my build, i know im saving alot by doing my own fab work but as of now ive only got around $1200 in my project.

car is a 93 fox hatch i drove for over a year, 4cyl 5 speed 88k miles $350 ran perfect

engine i traded an lt1 with harness and ecu for a "knocking" LQ9 $450 is what i payed for the lt1

i got the harness and ecu from a buddy out of a 03 1500 LQ4 truck $250

manifolds are flipped and wrapped stockers

built some motor mounts

building my own harness

so far i havent bought any of the "swap" parts. even the stock 4cyl k member is in tact. i have a buddy with a deisel that gave me his old 3.5" exhaust. I lightly modified the 4cyl lower mounts to meet my scratch built uppers. i do still need to source a tranz and turbo. but im not breaking my budget to build this car. i dont plan on going over $2000 including a full paint job even the bay and to tune the ecu. everyone swears by the "aje" brand but after seeing one in person i know for a fact i can make stuff myself with the same build quality. i refuse to buy these hyped up swap components. headers would be nice but $900 for kooks long tubes? no thanks... besides whats the point of a swap project if your paying someone to build parts to make it bolt in? i build my stuff... just my .02 -phill

oh and also pick up a 93 fox body bro. they have a return line so you dont need a corvette fpr. and even the truck manifold will fit under the stock hood.

Im well over 20k in mine but Im not cutting corners and everything I bought is BRAND NEW.

Florida 5.0 gauges costed me a lil over $1k.

It could be done cheap, just not the route I wanted to go.

Good luck.

Here's where I'm at currently:

95 GT roller- $2250
2000 LS1/4L60 pullout- $1800
AJE k-member, mounts, & trans crossmember - $557
Circle D torque converter - $395
Truck coils (D585) - $125
stock maf - $50
oil pan gasket - $40
2010 camaro exhaust manifolds - $60
243 heads - $400
MLS head gaskets & tty bolts - $60
LS6 intake, injectors, rail, tb, & cam - $475
LS2 timing set, gaskets, balancer bolt.... $140

Next up is:
trans rebuild - $800 for the monster kit (free labor)
Wiring harness - $500 - PSI conversions is getting my business
Driveshaft - $300 ????

Might as well throw in another $300 for fluids and odds & ends.

I'm a little north of $8,000 but still not complete. Yeah, I paid more for my roller than most but its what I wanted. Already had all the suspension goodies, weld wheels, rust free.......

I do have about $500 worth of stuff to sell (wiring harness, coils, intake, ..........) but until I part with them they're not coming off my budget.

When its all said & done I'd bet my project exceeds 10K. When it hits the road it'll need tires, an alignment, new carpet, .... **** adds up.

here is where im at: i started with a 95 cobra with a 393 that i have parted out so, so far i have spent everyone elses money, the original price of car was 5800 i drove it for a year broke a lifter pulled motor and now im starting fresh.

ly6 find them for 1300-1600 all day long have money aside but havent purchased yet or i will hurry and start half assing things.

just ordered team z k member, A-Arms, coilover kit, motor mounts, hardware kit, and steering rack hardware kit, all for $850 shipped through kurgan motorsports.

got a flaming river manual rack kit with shaft tie rods etc used for 300 shipped plus my old PS pump and lines to the guy.

th 350 with shift kit $150 ( its not gonna last forever like that but will get me moving)

revmax 4k stall will be around $300

dynatech lt's, 600 hoping to get them cheaper through KURGAN Motorsports.

still need trans x member
still need carb, buddy has a bnib holley hp 750 for $150
still need inatke and msd box
electric water pump
hope to get my FMS aluminum driveshaft modified (havent looked into this)
still need a shifter
i will not worry about speedo etc, i have aftermarket tach oil pressure and water temp guages

other misc parts like alternator flex plate, stuts will be needed the only accesory i will be driving is an alternator, im going carb mostly because it will be primarily a race car and i want it to look super clean under the hood. plan to narrow my cobra r's in front have 26-11.5/17 rears 4.10s, girdle, sfc's, eibach drag launch rears comp 3 way rear shocks non adjustable control arms with solid bushing.

im buying used what i can and buying new what i have to.
