Chevelle 71 Swap Hi everyone
I own a 71 chevelle with a 454 engine
Recently i found in a srap yard a 2002 engine and tranny that came from a 4x4 truck.The engine was a Vortec 6000.Is it possible to put that baby in my car.Is there company that sell wiring hardness to help me on this project.
What kind of money should i expect to spend on the complete swap,excluding the cost of engine.Can i also put that tranny in my car too.

It IS possible... I am doing just that in fact with a 2001 Denali Engine (LQ4 6.0L) into a 70 Chevelle. Basically, I have been just assembling parts for what seems like forever now.
For wiring harnesses check with our www.speartech.com (sponsor to the left) or you can do some research and modify your harness yourself.
Money-wise... is a HUGE variable. It all depends on how worried you are about having the "trick" parts. You can spend a ton of money on things custom made for swaps like this.... OR you can build/fabricate most everything yourself and save a ton of money, if you are competent enough to do so, and want to spend a lot of extra time on the project.
Do a search through this section of the board, I am sure nearly all of your questions have been answered.
