Default Stock motor mount / LS adapter plate issue

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but I went to bolt my stock '75 Corvette motor mounts to the Dirty Dingo adapter plates I'm using for the LS1 conversion, and they won't mount flush to the plates. There's a small hump on the back of the stock motor mount that hits the adapter plate, and it leaves a small gap between the two. No way it is supposed to be like this...

What am I missing? Did you guys have to shim the stock mount with washers?

Here's a pic...

Yes, some of them use a washer for a spacer.

Alright thanks. Just wanted to be sure it wasn't an "operator error" issue.

I would either cut the bump off or machine a matching hole in the plate. ( I did the machining).

I'm glad to see this is a common issue. I searched around a little and couldn't find anything, and thought I was all jacked up...

I ended up buying some new poly motor mounts for the car. I figured I probably should anyways, instead of reusing the ones that are 37 years old. New ones have flat backs, so no worries now.

I am doing a 73 Vette/LS1 and using Dirty Dingo adapter plates. Actually put them on the engine yesterday. My adapter plates have slots to clear the dimple in the motor mount. They fit nice and flush.

We must have bought different plates. Oh well, the new motor mounts should do the trick for me.

Well this is how I got the engine mounted in my car. I didn't have access to a peice of metal to make a spacer out of so I stacked washers and welded them into a spacer. It looks kinda hacked but it does work.
