Header question for the second gen guys.
I called Schoenfeld on the headers that put a small block ford in the second gen camaros and firebirds ( I forgot who originally posted the link to them).
But they are meant for tube chassis cars, and are not supposed to fit a stock subframe. I am almost thinking of buying these anyway to see how close they come to fitting. Plus I cant really see a circle track guy putting a tubular subrame under these cars, would they? Most of the time when you see a second gen circle track car, they are beat to crap and still runnign stock air shocks on them. Cant really see them spending money on putting a tube frame under them. www.schoenfeldheaders.com/ford_street_stock.htm
Any way now to my question, How about first generation headers? If we are running a regular SBC the headers fit from 67-81. Do you think LS1 headers would fit the same? Any body tried it? I know they say they are made to fit around a rack and pinion, but our steering components are in front of the subframe.
What do you guys think?
