Ghetto is keeping the chrome and adding a hydraulics kit to it like Dough boys in Boyz in the Hood.

This is more the pro-touring modern style.
These cars REALLY stand out at car shows because everyone else has the same dime a dozen look.

There's PLENTY of classic cars that look waaaaaaay better without the chrome on them.
Chrome has been around since the 1930's guys......**** is seriously played out.
Black and carbon fiber is the new "chrome".

I really like the impala above. Maybe part of the problem with the op's pics are the chrome/black strip on the side. Since it is black and in the middle of white top and bottom, It doesn't do anything to highlight or accentuate any real shape. looks kinda like an add on. Especially when it is not blacked out all the way down the side, looks unfinished. There are definetely cars that stand out like that, but most of them like the impala above, use the black to highlight the curves or draw attention to the seperation of cab and body, giving it a lower meaner look. Opinions are like A$$h&^%$%, everybody has one and they usually stink. Take a camaro, nova, challenger, etc and paint it satin black-looks cool, same thing to a Yugo, now it looks unfinished and beater. But even the impala above used spun hoops on the rims to seperate tire and rim. makes the rims looks bigger and now it draws attention to both the top and bottom of the car. Just my stinking opinion.

But i'm still a chrome guy.

Maybe Ghetto is the wrong word. Black out and black rims are a trend. Hell the kids around here have everything blacked out with black rims. The ricer kids, and late model kids. It has been hot for five years. I bet it won't be around another five years. When you have car makers doing it, it is the kiss of death.
Keep it classic and it will always be in style IMO.

Based upon your fixed parameters, I vote #1. Given the alternatives I would go chrome. How about polishing the rim lips to make the centers really pop?
