Wiring noob

I got a 6.0L lq4 with a harness, i want to run a t56 behind it. what wiring needs to be removed or added to convert it from automatic to the t56? i do not know what truck the engine came out of but if theres any way of knowing let me know, all i know is the block was a 2004 and before because of the short and long head bolts. thanks

All you need to run a manual is the VSS plug. All the auto stuff can come out,

lt1swap.com has all the wiring diagrams you need. basically remove all the transmission wiring.

You will also want to wire in the reverse lockout.

Thanks for all the info, ive been using lt1tech.com that was a big help. but there was a wire left on one of the neutral safety switch connectors and another connector thats grey and green that seems to go to the transmission also

Look on the vertical edge of the block at the bellhsg area... driver side. Should be a set of laser etched numbers/letters there. Post them, and we may be able to better ID the engine...
