A blown, carbed ls1 first gen?
Just and idea, what if you were to take a ls1, put the carb manifold on it, then throw a blow-through blower on it, like that vortech sbc kit? Wouldnt you be able to save a few thousand bucks on wiring harnesses, blowers, etc?
What would be the pros and cons of going to a setup like this? Any big drawbacks?
Sorry to be a noob, but just throwing ideas out there...

If you modify a stock wiring harness yourself you are saving money right off the bat, plus you are not losing all of the benefits of an LS1 swap in the first place.
If you are gonna go with a carbed motor, why not just use a SBC?? All the parts are INFINITELY less expensive.
