Default crank spacers??

i had a 6.0l and a th400 with the correct converter to go up against a sfi flywheel. and i didn't have a spacers i know certain years need them because of the longer and shorter cranks. im going to be getting a 5.3l is there any years that would need this spacer?

The 1999-2000 6.0L's have the longer crank flange. The 5.3L never had the longer flange.

so as long as my 6.0l wasn't a 99 or 2000 the 5.3 should bolt right up then?

That's the short crank flange 6.0l your good to go. Remove the dished 5.3L flex plate and run the flexplate you have it will all bolt together.

I got "peace of mind" by bolting it all up and checking for proper fit while it was on the ground where I could get to everything.

Looks like your flexplate has all the spacers built in.

That flexplate is, ummm, different... I'd mock it up for sure after seeing that.

If you're talking to me... Your first post didn't say that it was a running setup, just that you "had it". Regardless, with use of non-stock parts, I always mock-fit everything first. Then when it goes in the car, it's there to stay.

Google up some pix of a factory flexplate and the difference will be obvious.
