Basic 5.3 build for Notch Fox Questions

Basic 5.3 build for Notch Fox Questions I didn't see a section pertaining to the LM7, LQ4 or LQ9 so I thought I would just put this here...
Anyone have some suggestions how to simply top 300-320rwhp, keep the power band within 0-6000rpm and still maintain about 20-22mpg highway?
This car is a daily driver, not trying to break the land speed record just want something I can kick the *** end out a little bit and enjoy cruising comfortably.
The chassis, brakes and rear end are all pretty much set up at this time and the rear end has a 3.73 in it. I plan to drop a T56 behind it also.
My initial thought was just leave a stock longblock with maybe a 228R TSP cam and LS6 intake manifold... Just trying to do this on the cheap for a little bit of fun... I have my late model circle track car to go fast and devour all of my money already lol
