Default Heater Hose Plumbing

I have an LS1 in my sandrail and am about ready to fire it up.

I still have to either cap off the heater ports or loop them, Can anyone offer the best approach?

Is getting the air out of the motor a problem?

As long as you have the steam line plumbed to a point of the radiator (or other area) higher than the motor you should be good. You won't have any problem with trapped air but I'd loop it off rather than cap each.

I don't want to sound stupid here, but what is the 'steam line' and where do I find it on the engine?

The steam line runs fron the cylinder heads under the intake manifold through the throttle body and back to the radiator.

You mean you drilled and plugged the steam lines exiting the heads??? Without those lines, air pockets in the heads turn into steam and you'll have serious problems in no time at all. These are there to bleed the air pockets off into the coolant sytem and allow coolant to fully displace that air. You can't get by without them.

First things first... I WANT AN LS1 Sandrail! Thats freakin awsome! I think I know what I plan to do in the future! As for the steamline(s)... ya know how they say, "you learn something new every day!"... well, I learned my something already now... does that mean I can check out until tomorrow? Or does that mean I might learn more than normal today?

Later!

Coach... I mean Randy (I often forget who I really am)

I think the topic is on Heater Hoses. Someone else started the steam line. I plugged the heater outlets.
