Im still gathering some parts for this swap but this is basically what im doing. I had plans of putting a forged 414 supercharged small block chevy in the car with a built 700r4. I built the motor a few years ago and now dont have the money to finish the project. That motor as said was a standard bore 400sbc 2 bolt main block that has a strocker 3.875 crank forged rods and custom made pistons, custom spec d short circle base cam, victor jr aluminum heads, and a little 177 weind supercharger gear to gear timing the works. But i decided im selling this motor for 6k have like 8k invested. Never even been cranked. So now i have a 5.3 that im preparing to put in the 85 firebird just basically bone stock other then oil pan and injectors. I have a holset turbo to go on it which i believe is a hx55 turbo. And to transfer the power is a 4l80 trans. If i sell the motor im getting a 9in for the rear if not im keeping the 9 bolt till it shatters. But the plan is to push the motor into the 9s. I dont care if i blow the 180k mile motor paid $250 for it. I plan on getting a 4.8 to go in it after the motor lets go with some of the basics arp bolts, zo6 cam, ported heads and a 70-80mm turbo for that one. I will try to get some pics of the car in a week or 2 when i take the car to get my cage welded in.
