Thanks. I'm really looking forward to getting the engine in. There have been so many set-backs between crappy machine shops, sshedule conflicts and parts that are impossible to find.
It will be nice to hear it finally run soon.

Today was a good day. Got the motor mounts and tans mounts tacked in along with the rear upper bridge. Eventually the trans will be made into a k member to make the chassis a litle more rigid.
Axle is now in the correct position (doh!) I am fabbing up some plates for the rear bridge that will allow for mounting of the air bags and the rear shocks.
Tomorrow I will cut the firewall to make room for the new power train and start assembling the engine internals.

I am watching the thread as I am in a similar build with a 47 Chevy. LS 3 and M6. I have those major components and I am slowly acquiring sheet metal and other parts. Probably going with the No Limit Suspension with coil overs.

Yeah. The side steps drop down an extra 5 inches from the frame and the angle iron is just there to keep. H frame square while we finish the k member and finish weld it ll. Fully laid out I have 8" between the trans member and the ground and 3" on the truck style oil pan. The Hooker Block Huggers should fit in perfectly and allow me to run at least 2 3/4 duals.

Bad *** build-this is exactly what I want my next project to be after my Monte. I've been fighting the urge to pick up an early 50's Chevy truck, so for now I'll just live vicariously through your project ha. Keep up the great progress.

Been stupid busy since I work retail and its that time of year. But I was able to get the rear bag brackets done. Now I will air it up to throw on a tailer for the state patrol inspection to apply for a rebuilders title and a quick stop to have a driveline made for it.

Well I spent a few nights putting the entire body, doors, and bed onto the frame for my state patrol inspection only to get there and be told that since there is no steering column they can not do a VIN inspection for the rebuilder's title. So the search began for seats so i could figure out what column I would need. I really wanted some 2010+ F-250 Super Duty seats. I work on those trucks all the time and have never been so comfortable. Days of searching and calling around I found for basic manual seats I would be dropping $600-$700 since they have airbags in them. I stumbled across some 2010 F-150 Harley seats on eBay for a steal. Headed, Cooled, and 8 way power w/ lumbar for $595 Shipped! The deep discount was due to the leather being in rough shape- but I will be re-doing them anyways so I didn't care.
The good news is that I got a lot of welding work done on the frame over the weekend. It may not look like much but I know some of you can appreciate the hood time and metal finish time spent on it. (The bottom side welding will be done when we strip the frame for paint and can easily flip it over)
Engine should be back in tonight then it goes to have a drive line made.

Subscribed. Great work. I know the feeling of not being able to work on your project. I work 6 days a week and the last couple days off were family days, so no work on the project.
Looks good and keep up the great work, good luck with the rest of the build.

In colorado you can get a rebuilders title which doesn't require any bonds. Basically a clean and clear title for any vehicle older than 1975. Unfortunately part of the requirements is that it be a "non roadworhty vehicle or rolling chassis consisting of a frame, four wheels, a body, and a means of steering"..... turns out a steering rack isn't enough to pass the last stipulation. Lol

The last few weeks have been quite the learning experience....
I got the trans back from the shop- It went in for a bench inspection (since I wasn't sure what company re-built it) and came out with $700 in work to it. Apparently what ever company "rebuilt" it simply cleaned it out and replaced the gaskets. Still using a stock sun shell, accumulators etc.
I also found out the converter I purchased is for the LT style 4l60e and not the LS like I had initially thought.
But for good news....
I got my Holley LS Belt Drive parts today(20-131 and 21-3). Fit is pretty good, except my stock truck alternator doesn't appear to line up properly. The manual list 2 part #s that are recommended but also says if I switch my 2 wire version over to a 4 wire internal it will work. I'll call them tomorrow on that. Hopefully I can just swap the pulley and not have to replace the 145a Truck alternator.
I will probably also take a D/A sander to them before powder coating as the casting seams are fairly rough.
Also got my drive shaft built.
I ordered the belt tensioner, power steering pump, and flywheel bolts today. I should hopefully have it fired in the next week or so. I plan on just using the stock manifolds flipped over with some mufflers clamped on for the initial start up and testing.
Next on the list is a set of block huggers and to figure out the intake duct work. I'm thinking I will be using the Hedman LS158 as they are the only ones with an offset exit I could find without getting crazy expensive.
