Default Help Wanted: Trans issue on 4l70e

My project is using a 5.3l from an 04 Avalanche mated to 4l70e from a TBSS. The problem I am having is that the distance from the TC mounting pads to the bellhousing is only about 0.5" with the TC mounted and the dished flex plate on my engine is .625" from the block. This keeps me from bolting it all together as I am about .125" short. This means to me that the TC is not seated all the way or I have the wrong dished flexplate?

So going with the idea that the TC wasn't seated all the way, I have read on here that it should sit approximately 1.125" from mount pad to bell. Mine is about .375" from the bellhousing, but Im sure all of the splines are seated including the two oil pump slots. What am I missing? I have spun the TC till I was blue in the face, stood the trans on end and spun, tried a rubber mallet.... Im lost now.

Its a stock trans and stock TC. Could I have the wrong TC? Wrong flex plate?
