lt1 transmission with ls1
Since you have a 1997 transmission, if you use the setup I listed, you will be fine. You will have to elongate the holes slightly for the torque converter on the flexplate with a die grinder (ideal) or Dremel (slow). The LSx (Gen III) engines are all metric and the 1997 engines and transmissions are based off Gen I / II designs which were all US standard.
Don't get talked into an expensive billet SFI flexplate unless you are making big power or drag racing, it really isn't necessary.
