Default 2000 corvette tranny

I found a six speed from a 2000 corvette locally. I was wondering how hard it would be to put it behind a 5.3 from 2000-2006?

It's my understanding that the Corvette transmissions are two seperate sections, one directly behind the engine, and the other at the rear end. So, if that's indeed the case, it would be a colossal undertaking to make it work

Not usable unless converted.

If you can get it for under $200 and do the work yourself, it makes a very nice T56.

A bit of insight from Texas Speed: used Corvette transmissions tend to be in better general condition than used F-body or GTO transmissions. This was partially attributed to some parts being stronger, but mainly because of the relative level of maturity most Corvette drivers exhibit behind the wheel, compared to F-body drivers. In other words, there are lots of teens with Camaros, but not many driving vettes. Teens tend to be a little rough on things

Thanks fellows. I like your car 1981. It is very similar to what I want to build out of my 81 formula.
