Default Fuel return line question

I need to add a return line to my tank and was wondering if I could just use one of the vent tubes ? I have a 71 cutlass and it has 3 vent tubes built into the top of the tank.

Just make sure they don't have a one way valve on them. Otherwise I say it should be fine. 3 vents seems really excessive to me. lol

Yea I asked over on the cutlass forum what each of the vents was for but got no response. I'm thinking about just drilling a hole in the top of my sending unit and welding in a piece of 3/8 steel tube and calling it done. Just wanted to make sure however I did it I was doing it right.

Do you mean 3 tubes coming off the sender flange? 1 is fuel out, should be 3/8, 1 is return from stock A/C fuel pump and 1 should be to the charcoal canister, most likely 1/4".

No my tank actually has 3 vent tubes on it, my sending unit only has 1 line.
