Default Help with disassembling red/blue pcm harness plugs

Trying to mod a 2000 Silverado harness to stand alone. Can't figure out how to get the gray plastic covers off the back of the red/blue harness plugs. Tried working the retention tabs all different ways, just don't want to let go. Are they one time use or something? On the plus slide, I see how the red and blue parts come off, and how to depin, just can't get those damn gray covers off.
TIA, Jim

I just stuck a small screw driver between the cover and pcm plug. You can see the four tabs of the grey cover where it goes into the connector. Slide screwdriver in right beside one tab and twist then move on to the next one. Once you remove one you will see how it latches and they are easy to remove after you know how it works.

+1 - just be careful if you want to reuse them as those tabs can break off pretty easy at times. But you can alway buy a new one or used one from a few places..
