4.8 Build/ Newbie Hey all,
I am new to all this so please bare with me, and any helpful comments are greatly appreciated. So I am planning on doing a swap in my 58 fairlane 500 with an 4.8 out of a 2001 Silverado. I was wondering what all I would need and what all I could use that I have now? The motor that I have came with the complete wire harness, ECU, intake, fuel rails, basically everything except transmission. Now I have seen some people say get rid of the 4.8 and go for something bigger, which yeah I do agree with but I also like to see what I can do with what I have. So I was wondering if you guys or gals, had any good building recipes for a 4.8 to get some good numbers. Like would I be able to fit some 6.0 heads on the motor, and use an LS6 intake to make more power? Also what is a good cam to throw in this and motor mounts? Any help is appreciated on doing this build, I will post pictures this weekend. Thanks in advance for your help!
