Block Huggers I am trying to find a reasonably price exhaust manifold for my LS1/Chevy II swap. The car has a TCI clip on it. Would 1 5/8" block huggers hurt the performance that much? The car is pretty much a driver and a toy. Thanks
I can't recall what all fits with an aftermarket clip. What is your budget exactly? I don't think 1-5/8 would hurt if its a mostly stock engine. But if I wasn't going full length headers or some nice midlength like from church boys I'd just use stock manifolds for now. I have the church boys mid length n they are nice but still in the box....

I have been doing a lot of research on this. The car is a 65 sedan with a TCI clip, 99LS1 with a 4L60e. I tried a set of GTO's, but they hit the frame rails.
From the pictures I have been looking at, I think 2010/11 Camaro manifolds will clear. And possibly 05/09 Trailblazer. I am not going to spend $400 + on a set of headers. Art

When you say they hit the frame rails. What exactly hit? If its the flanged part, people have cut it off and welded the band clamps to make work.
But your right I didn't want to spend a lot of money on headers myself but they were the only ones that fit a stock subframe.

Hedman shorties are what I used. They fit nearly perfect and they are coated. Not sure of the tubing size but my LS1 runs very fine with them, and they are not terribly expensive.
