Default winter storage

I have an ls1 in a 65 impala. I disconnected the battery to start another car of mine. I will probably leave the battery out of my ls1.

I am guessing that my pcm will need to be driven for a few hundred miles for the pattern to be re-learned. Correct?

Should I try one of those 12v tenders or something to keep the pcm learned? I know I will not need it programmed, but the other parts that learn with driving I am talking about.

thanks for any info.

I have a battery tender hooked to mine. Not sure if you can use one of those without the battery hooked up at the same time. The battery tenders do an excellent job of preserving the battery through the winter.

if you look around your house I will bet you can find an old 12V adapter for a cell phone or boom box. If you want to keep power to the car with no battery then just splice one of those into the harness somewhere. Don't use that if you have the battery in place, might overcharge it.

I have a rag top that is not usable due to the cold...for my friend in Tampa.
