Donor 2003 tahoe Hello,
I am new here so please bear with me. I will be removing a 5.3 from a wrecked tahoe tomorrow. I am planning on putting this in an 1985 el camino. What elso should I remove from the tahoe to accomdate the funtionality of the motor(i.e. brain box, sensors etc.) after the swap in to the elco. Thanks in advance fellas

Make sure to take the entire engine/transmission wiring harness, pcm, tac module (if it is DBW) and the throttle pedal assembly. Also take the wiring associated with the ALDL (data port). It would also be a good idea to take the cruise control switch. Plan to take the entire fuse/relay panel from under the hood for reference more than anything else. You might also want to take the AC hoses to give yourself a place to start.

Cut the sections of exhaust pipe off that has all the O2 sensors in it so you can reuse the O2 bungs. Or if your not using headers you will have the right flange to bolt to the manifolds. Also take the OBD2 port from under the dash. Leave the wires as long as you can so you can extend them to where you want to install it later.
