belt routing question
Hey folks,
I am in the middle of a conversion of an lm7 in a 50`s chevy. I am not using p/s or a/c. I have the alternator mounted on the pass side with the mounting kit from CBR performance. I am using a f body water pump and crank pulley. My question is...the how much of the water pump pulley needs to be touched by the belt? I think i may need an idler off the drivers side head or maybe the water pump so that the belt catches more of the water pump pulley.
Thanks

How much belt wrap do you have? I would say if you can't spin the water pump pulley with the belt on it should be alright, but if you can, then you need more wrap. Can you post a pic of your set up?
Thanks for the info folks
