78 Nova 5.3/m? Picked up this 78 Nova a couple months ago and got this wrecked Avalanche with a 5.3/4l60e
NOW.... what tranny to get?
I am CERTAIN that I want a manual. I am not going to go to all of this trouble just to not end up with what I want.
-would it be cheaper to go with an older m4 and screw around with all of the conversion stuff or just break down and get a T56? would I have to get a whole different wiring harness or could i just splice different things in?

I would go with the T56. If you are going to rework your stock harness, you can repin to run the manual trans (reverse lockout) and reflash the PCM for a manual transmission. It is fairly easy.
