Question 4l60 question

I was curious if a 4l60 from a late 90's blazer would work and talk with the ECM for an 02 truck? I just finished the ls swap in my c10 and it has a th350 for now. A coworker has a trans mentioned above I was wondering if it would work? He is gonna sell it to me super cheap.

Thanks

Are the internals pretty much the same as the "newer" trans? Thinking about putting it in stock for now just to work the bugs out then once I can afford to ill have it built.

What year transmission are you specifically referring to?

To ensure 100% compatibility with the Gen III VCM, the front pump of the transmission should have PWM cast in it. The PWM defines how the torque converter is locked and unlocked by the VCM.

PWM is circled in the first picture below.
