Default 6 Cyl to LS Conversion

Recently we converted a 3.8L 98 Camaro to a 98 LS-1. Other than adding a crane cam, Headers and 3" dual pipes, HD clutch and an after market Tremec 6 speed transmission cross member, computer reprogramming and a KandN filter the swap it is pretty much stock. Though the engine runs well, an electrical problem developed after the conversion, the dash vents won't open and the blower fan won't work in high. Cruise control no longer works either.

On the good news the engine cradle swap was easier than expected and the performance over 3.8L is amazing.

Forgot to mention, that the speedometer runs at about 1/3 the speed it should despite having a Z-28 speed sensor on the T-56 6speed.

Default Fix for Dash Air Vents run by vacuum

The dash vents are controlled by vacuum supplied by a smaller than straw sized black tube that comes off the back of the intake manifold then goes to a T connector near the firewall on the passenger side attached to the bracket that holds the air conditioning lines on the left side. We found this thanks to a 208 post that did not come up through the LS1 database search but a Google search. https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...owing-air.html

Question does anyone know what the other vacuum line coming off the T is supposed to go to that goes to the front of the car in a flexible plastic electrical conduit? The t was broken off as was the tube itself.

The origin of the vacuum is in the back of the intake manifold best found by feeling for it it then goes to a one way plastic valve and T. One of the tubes coming out goes through the firewall and into a mullticolored block of vacuum lines that control the vents. The other end runs down the passenger fender inside the flexible plastic conduit to the vacuum storage tank that is UNDER the plastic floor behind the horn. You get to this tank through a trap door in the plastic floor behind the bumper secured by two bolts underneath so you have to crawl under the front passenger side to get to it. The nipple of the tank where the hose goes sticks out right behind the horn. You can bend the horn bracket to make it easier to get to. If you need pictures and diagrams supply an email address and we will forward.

Default [SOLVED] No high speed blower-relay reset button

After spending hours trouble shooting the blower problem with the great help of GaryDoug from LT1LS1 forum I found that there is a RESET button on the left side of the wall behind the glove compartment. You have to squeeze both sides of the glove compartment to get it to drop down, then you will see a white button on the left next to the barbed plastic push connector that secures the blower relay. The high speed does not go through the resistor pack and is controlled solely by the relay. Make sure you try the reset before changing the relay.
