Default power steering 71 c10 lsx

Just swapped a H/C/I 5.3 into my brothers c10, and have had nothing but issues with getting the power steering to work, I've searched and found nothing about needing a pressure reducer or anything to operate a lsx truck pump on the factory 71 rack. Anyone wanna got any advice?

What is the problem you are having? You have solid pressure from the pump going to the gearbox, and free flow back into the tank right?

The pump turns fine but once I start the truck, the pump builds pressure and eventually kills the engine because it won't flow.

I believe I have the lines plumbed right, high pressure goes to the outside fitting on the box right?

No, it goes to the inside fitting.

Here's a pic of mine. Post #82 third pic down. The high pressure line on mine is coming from a hydroboost, but it's the same difference, high side is on the inside, return is on the outside. https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-c-10-a-5.html
