Won't have time to work on the car today ....But....The FedEx guy was still working......The re-wiring kit from American Autowire came in, along with a new quick ratio steering box, and a complete Vintage Air system.....Gonna hit it hard this weekend........

I'm in the process of installing an American Autowire kit similar to yours in a friends 63 Impala wagon. It looks like a really cool kit but I've only gotten as far as getting the hole in the firewall cut and the bulkhead mounted.

Knowing the speed you work at, I'm curious to know what you think of it.

It will be a couple of weeks till I get to that point..........Speartech is doing the LSA harness and he's slammed.....so.....I'm getting the LSA wiring diagram from John so I can plan ahead and marry the two together......

With my friends work schedule and the car at his house (my car is in small bits in my shop) you will still probably have the harness in before we do. I wanted to cut the hole before I place the engine for the last time so I could stand in the engine bay and not lean over freshly painted fenders.

Good idea on planning ahead to marry the two together.

I put the 6L90 in my Dakota. I have a video that shows the mod I made to my tunnel. Love the transmission.

Got the old drivetrain out and we are getting close to starting with the "Fun" part of the rebuild........Gonna find out what fit's.....and what doesn't......Then make it fit.........Everything will be documented here so as to help others in the future.......or.....If anyone has been down this road, feel free to help with any advice.........My biggest concern right now is with the 6L90E trans.........I'm not concerned so much with cutting the tunnel.........But by how much will be sticking down below the crossmember as this thing is huge.......I also did some rough measuring and it seems like the top of the supercharger will be about an inch too high for the hood to close.......But....I'll know more when we get a little further along...

I know you have seen my 1965 Skylark build with the 6L80. I don't think your build will be any different as the cars are virtually the same in that area. The 6L90 is just a little longer.

The part number I was given is the same size pan as on my 6L80 now after going down to the dealer and looking one over. So no. I am not sure of the part number for the smaller pan.

Here's a picture of the pan I used. It came from a 2006 Caddy STSV.

i installed the 6l80e in my 67, I cut the tunnel completely out and took one from an old oldmobile and made it fit .I scrapped the idea of using my original console being you would have to do some trim work on it ( it also go riuned in Sandy ) another consideration is your shifter . your stock shifter will get you p r n d but then you will need some sort of other means to manual shift 1 through 6 . speartech makes a shifter and has an indicator on their guage set , or you may paddleshift , I know some companys have the wireless or 1 wire setup for paddle shifting ,speratech also makes a switch to manual shift if you do stay with the stock console. i used a g 8 pan for the tranny , still hangs a bit low . I have seen pictures only of a shallower cts-v pan if it actually exists? I have templates for the ac bracket to mount low but uses the main belt , not sure of accesory spacing setup you have and not sure if having the compressor along with the supercharger works out?, mine is a vette .what rear ratio do you have ? I currently have a 3.73 but am probably changing to a 3.08 being the the 6l80 has such a steep 1st gear .is trans setup with a dipstick? look into that being that some have no dipstick and you have to check the level from a plug similar to your rear diff. level.look throug my build if you want to see the a c bracketsJOHN
