Default Coil wiring?

Does anyone know if you can run a constant power to the coils that is switched on via a relay? I discussed it before in another thread, but can't seem to find my notes or the thread.

I have not done it, but I don't see why you could NOT do it. I guess I'm curious as to why.

Sure you could, but question is why would you want too.. ?

I see Safety issue on shutdown with possible run on. Battery Parasites drain are possible issus.

To make a real ling story short, I have a harness that is suspect that has 20 gauge wires going to both the injectors and the coils as the primary power wire. I am getting some misfire issues under boost that I need to cure. Even if it was way fat, it should still light off and it is not. I realise I need to lean it out some more, but with the plugs tapped at 22 it should still light. Those wires are just tiny for the primary ignition wire. I would think 12 or 14 gauge would be better suited.

I would use the existing ignition wires as a trigger for a relay that powers them. There would be no safety issue or battery drain.
